Watford vs Newcastle Betting Tips

Watford have had an excellent first half to the season after returning to the top flight from the Championship last term.

Once they got over their initial psychological rut they began displaying the sort of attacking flair that they played with last season, and it’s worked.

Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo are the Premier League’s most lethal partnership, and their goals have helped Watford towards a 9^th placed position in the top flight.

Their results have suffered a bit lately though, with games against Chelsea, Spurs, and Manchester City leaving them with one point from a possible nine, but you can’t really expect them to compete with these three teams.

They certainly haven’t disgraced themselves in these games though, and before this run they had won four matches in a row.

Newcastle aren’t doing so great, although they have improved since the beginning of the season. They have lost each of their last three games 1-0, with Everton, West Brom, and Arsenal all defeating them.

Before this they had enjoyed a three match unbeaten streak which included surprise wins against Everton and Spurs.

But overall they have been poor this season, and this has seen them drop into the Premier League’s relegation zone with a return of 17 points from their first 20 games.

These two sides met in the Premier League back in September, and Watford made the long trip back down south with three points under their belts. It was none other than Odion Ighalo who netted both goals in the 2-1 victory, with Troy Deeney providing one of his many assists as well.

Considering their good performances against the top sides in recent weeks and their previous run of excellent results I think Watford can get a win on Saturday. Newcastle have been poor throughout the season, and odds of 4/5 for a home victory look excellent value for money. I’m also going for a 2-0 correct score prediction at 15/2 considering Newcastle have failed to score in their last three games.
