Tip Reasoning
- Watford won four league games on the spin prior to their 1-0 weekend defeat at Bournemouth.
- The Hornets have won five of their last six starts at Vicarage Road, maintaining clean sheets in four of those matches.
- Wycombe have lost ten of their 15 away trips this term and have failed to score on seven occasions on their travels.
Wycombe to offer little resistance at Vicarage Road
Watford’s four game winning streak was halted by Bournemouth on Saturday, but the Hornets should immediately regain the winning thread against basement dwellers Wycombe at Vicarage Road this Wednesday night.
The defeat for Watford at the Vitality Stadium was a damaging one as it has left Xisco’s side three points behind second placed Brentford, however, there’s a real chance that the Hornets can make up that ground in midweek with the Bees facing an extremely difficult trip away to leaders Norwich City.
Nothing less than a win will do for Watford here but we’re backing them to see off the Chairboys without conceding a goal. Aside from their overall winning streak prior to the weekend, Watford have won five of their last six outings at Vicarage Road and have maintained clean sheets in four of those games.
Wanderers are 11 points shy of safety and all but cut adrift at the bottom of the table. The Chairboys have lost ten of their 15 away trips this season and have failed to score in seven of their starts on the road.
Everything points towards a Watford win to nil on Wednesday which significantly enhances their price in the match betting alone and we’re also predicting a 3-0 correct score as this should develop into a comfortable evening for the hosts.
