Wellington Phoenix have started their new campaign in pretty patchy form. They haven’t managed to get any sort of momentum going so far in the A-League.

This has taken them to the top of the table, with their 16 points equalling 2^nd place Western Sydney Wanderers and 3^rd place Sydney FC. But the leaders have a game in hand on both of those teams thanks to their FFA Cup Final participation.

Melbourne Victory have won four of their last five meetings with Wellington Phoenix, scoring 12 goals and conceding six. All but one of these five games ended with three or more goals.

Five of their last six games in all competitions have seen more than two goals, whilst Wellington Phoenix have participated in goalfests in eight of their last ten outings.
