Sydney FC to Win @ 23/20

We use stars to rate our confidence in our tips, with 3 being most confident to 1 being the least.
Sydney FC 3-1 @ 14/1

Reason For Wellington Phoenix vs Sydney FC Predictions

  • Wellington Phoenix have now gone five games unbeaten, putting their poor start to the season behind them.
  • Sydney FC are on a tremendous run of form, winning six in a row and sitting five points clear at the top of the table.
  • During their unbeaten run of games, Wellington Phoenix have conceded just 0.8 goals per game, compared to the 2 goals goal per game they conceded in their opening four games.
  • Sydney FC have scored 13 goals in their last five games, conceding just three as they begin to assert their dominance over the league.

Can Wellington Phoenix continue to over perform?

Wellington Phoenix had a horrible start to the season, losing their opening four games and sitting bottom of the league. A 1-1 draw with Melbourne Victory proved to be the turning point for the side though as they won their next three games, all by a 2-1 scoreline, before picking up another creditable point against Victory.

Whilst they’ve been in good form, they haven’t been setting the world alight, picking up three wins by a single goal and two draws. The results are coming for Ufuk Talay’s side though and they look confident coming into what looks to be their biggest test so far this season.

Sydney FC just keep on going

There doesn’t look like there is a team capable of stopping Sydney on their run of wins with victories over the likes of Melbourne Victory, Perth Glory and Western United showing the true dominance The Sky Blues have over their opponents in this league.

They’ve started to really improve since their solitary loss of the season against Western Sydney Wanderers, scoring an average of 2.83 goals per game since then and winning four of their six games by two goals or more. The side look head and shoulders above everyone else at the moment and will be looking to pick up another win in their pursuit of another Premier’s Plate.

Which side carries their form forward?

Whilst Wellington Phoenix have looked impressive in recent weeks, it’s hard to argue with the way Sydney FC have dispatched of several teams with relative ease. We can see the same thing happening this weekend with Sydney FC looking a cut above everyone else and we’re backing the visitors to pick up all three points.

Their dominance should shine through and with the news that talisman Milos Ninkovic has signed a new contract, there will be plenty of confidence throughout the side. We’re predicting them to pick up another win by two goals or more with a 3-1 scoreline looking really good value at around 16/1.
