West Brom vs Aston Villa Betting Tips

West Brom’s 1-0 win over Bristol City in their midweek FA Cup 3^rd Round Replay ended their run of three consecutive games without a win, but despite their poor form you can’t deny that their matches have become much more entertaining recently.

They have played out two 2-2 draws during this run and have seen 15 goals scored in their last five matches in all competitions.

This is a far cry from their 1-0 wins and goalless draws we saw earlier on in the season, although their points tally is suffering a bit from their new found defensive vulnerabilities. They sit in 13^th position in the Premier League with just six points separating them from the drop zone.

Aston Villa’s points tally is considerably worse though. They remain rock bottom of the table with just 12 points from their first 22 matches, ten points from safety.

However, things are looking up for Remi Garde and Co. They are unbeaten in four matches in all competitions and managed to get their first Premier League win since the opening day of the season earlier this month.

Aston Villa also managed to progress in the FA Cup in midweek, beating Wycombe Wanderers 2-0 in their replay, providing a welcome respite from their Premier League misery.

Both teams have had more success in front of goal recently and will be trying to build on the confidence that that brings. A derby day win would definitely help that confidence, and I’m expecting both teams to be going for it on Saturday.

Both West Brom and Aston Villa going for it should result in plenty of goalmouth action, and I think a few of these chances will be converted. This makes odds of 6/4 for Over 2.5 Goals look exceptionally good value, so I’m backing that along with a 2-1 West Brom win at 9/1.
