Luton to Win

Reason for tip

West Brom have conceded 14 goals in their last eight Championship games while Luton have scored at least two goals in six of their last eight league games. Also, the Hatters scored exactly two goals in both meetings between the clubs last season.

Luton 3-2

Reason for tip

West Brom have lost each of their last two home games by 3-2 scorelines and, if Bruce is on his last managerial legs with them, he could throw caution to the wind with his team selection after making six changes in midweek. There’s no doubt he has a lot of attacking options at his disposal, but the defenders are the reason they are where they are.

West Bromwich Albion vs Luton Predictions

  • West Brom have conceded 14 goals in their last eight Championship games.
  • Luton have scored at least two goals in six of their last eight league games.
  • Luton scored exactly two goals in both meetings between the clubs last season.

Bruce on his way out at West Brom?

West Brom’s defensive mistakes continue to cost them points and could end up costing Steve Bruce his job as he clings on ahead of Luton’s visit this weekend. Another poorly-defended cross cost them a goal from which they never recovered at Preston on Wednesday night to leave the baggies stuck in the relegation zone.

It will have improve – and quickly – if Albion are to avoid defeat against a Luton side that are finding the net very regularly at the moment – although also seem to be beset with defensive issues. Nathan Jones has been continually chopping and changing at the back, but they were unable to stop the rot in a 3-3 midweek home draw with Huddersfield.

The good news to come out of that game was a return to the scoresheet for Elijah Adebayo after he failed to notch in his first nine starts of the season. The big Londoner scored a brace and that should take a load of his, and some of his teammates’ shoulders, in the coming weeks.

Luton look likely to get goals at Hawthorns

The Hatters have scored at least two goals in six of their last eight league games and we see no reason why they can’t get over the 1.5 goal mark at the Hawthorns. Jones’ side scored exactly two goals in both meetings between the clubs last season and the Albion defence has shipped 14 goals across their last eight league fixtures.

A 3-2 Luton win is taken at a big price for correct score players as, if Bruce is on his last managerial legs with WBA, he could throw caution to the wind with his team selection after making six changes in midweek. There’s no doubt he has a lot of attacking options at his disposal, but the defenders are the reason they are where they are.
