West Bromwich Albion 2-1 @ 7/1

Reason For West Bromwich Albion vs Luton Predictions

  • West Brom have conceded in 100% of their home matches.
  • Luton have lost 13 of 15 away trips this season.
  • The Hatters have shipped 2+ goals in each of their last 10 away, losing every match.
  • Luton have conceded in 100% of their away matches this season.

Hatters Back to Winning Ways

Luton picked up a crucial victory in midweek, seeing off Derby in a 3-2 thriller. That was just their seventh victory in 29 matches this term, form which has left them bottom of the table. They sit six points shy of safety with just 17 games left to play, making this a crucial clash.

While they head to one of the leading candidates for promotion to the Premier League, this could be an opportunity for the visitors. There may be a near 30-point gulf between them in the table, but this is also a clash between two of the bottom three in the current form table, covering the last eight matches.

Trouble at the Hawthorns

West Brom have seen their season at the risk of collapse recently, with a seven-game run without a victory in the league. Consecutive losses to Stoke and Cardiff are cause for concern, with Slaven Bilic’s side losing those clashes either side of an FA Cup success at West Ham.

The hosts are lacking more than just confidence, but it could be that they are paying the price for a poor string of defensive displays all season. While the Baggies are the top scorers in the division, only five Championship teams have conceded more goals at home this season. The hosts have failed to keep a clean sheet in 100% of their home games, which has seen them go four without a victory here.

Opportunity for Baggies

While West Brom are looking poor, this is an obvious opportunity for them. They take on a Luton side who have lost 13 of their 15 away matches this season, which has seen them go on a 10-game losing streak on the road in the league. Luton have conceded twice or more in each of those 10, which should see West Brom add to their league-high tally of 51 goals, especially following the addition of Sheffield United forward Callum Robinson.

Luton have conceded in 100% of their away trips – and in 97% of their Championship games overall. The Baggies have failed to keep a clean sheet in 10 matches in the league, while they’ve seen both teams score in 86% of their outings at the Hawthorns. Following their runs without clean sheets and the visitors’ losing streak, we’re going with BTTS here and a 2-1 victory for the Baggies.
