Lions impressive on the road

Millwall’s automatic promotion hopes took a blow on Monday as they were beaten 2-1 by Norwich, leaving them level with both Ipswich and Middlesbrough on 72 points, although the Tractor Boys have two games in hand on that pair.

Alex Neil’s men had produced an impressive comeback to beat Boro 2-1 on Good Friday but they now need to peg back Ipswich, starting with this visit to West Brom.

A six-game unbeaten run has seen the Baggies pull away from the worst of the danger at the bottom of the table but they are still just four points clear of the drop.

The hosts have been solid enough at the Hawthorns but Millwall have been one of the best away teams in the Championship this season and could inflict a pivotal defeat on the home side.

High-scoring affair unlikely
