West Ham United vs Rapid Vienna Predictions

• West Ham won 2-0 at Dinamo Zagreb in their Europa League opener.
• The Hammers have three wins in their last four games.
• Rapid Vienna have four defeats in their last five fixtures and their last two defeats have been by more than one goal.

Hammers too hot for struggling Rapid

West Ham kicked off their Europa League campaign with a win at Dinamo Zagreb and can back that up with another win over out-of-form visitors Rapid Vienna on Thursday.

Rapid have made a woeful start to the season and have lost five of their nine games in the Austrian Bundesliga, with two wins and two draws.

The Vienna club are also seeking their first points in the Europa League after opening their account with a 1-0 defeat at home to Belgium’s Genk and they could be in for a tough night in London.

West Ham have made an excellent start to the campaign and have just one defeat in eight games so far. The one blemish on their record was a home defeat to Manchester United in the Premier League and had Mark Noble not missed from the spot at the death in that match they would be going into this game with an unbeaten record.

The Hammers have just one win in three home games so far but should be able to record a fairly comfortable victory here and I’m backing them to beat a -1 handicap against Rapid, who have lost two of their last three games by more than one goal. West Ham have scored seven goals in total in their three home fixtures so far and given Rapid’s recent struggles a 3-0 home victory looks to have a chance in the correct score market.
