West Ham United and Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Sheffield United were hammered 8-0 by Newcastle at home last week but that was clearly their worst performance of the season and they have been competitive in their other games. West Ham have 10 points from their six games but are yet to keep a clean sheet, while the Blades have scored in four of their six league fixtures, including both of their away outings, so back a win for the Hammers with goals at both ends.

West Ham United 2-1

Reason for tip

West Ham score on average 1.8 goals-per-game in the Premier League and they face a Sheffield United side who have lost both of their away games 2-1. The Blades will be desperate to respond after last week’s humiliation and can keep this game close, but the hosts have enough quality to edge this game 2-1.

Jarrod Bowen To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Jarrod Bowen has four Premier League goals to his name already and three of those have come in his last four games, so back the West Ham forward to add to his account against the Blades.

West Ham United vs Sheffield United Predictions

  • Both teams have scored in all six of West Ham’s Premier League games (W3, D1, L2).
  • Sheffield United have scored in four of their six league games, including both of their away matches.
  • Jarrod Bowen has four goals in six league games.

Blades in need of a response

Sheffield United head to West Ham on Saturday as they bid to respond to an 8-0 hammering at the hands of Newcastle last time out.

The Hammers are looking for a response of their own after league defeats to Man City and Liverpool, having managed 10 points from their first four games.

Expect a better showing from the Blades

Sheffield United have just one point to show from six games and they sit at the foot of the table – but aside from the loss to Newcastle they have been competitive in their fixtures.

We should see a reaction from Paul Heckinbottom’s men and they are definitely a better team than last week’s performance suggests. However, it is still hard to see them getting a result against this slick West Ham outfit and a home win with both teams to score looks a good option for the main bet.

There have been goals at both ends in all six of West Ham’s league fixtures and they have just one clean sheet in their last 10 home games stretching back into last season. The Blades have lost both of their away games but did score at both Nottingham Forest and Tottenham, losing both games 2-1.

Bowen the clear goal candidate

West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen has four Premier League goals to his name already and three of those have come in his last four games. As such, Bowen looks the best option for an anytime goalscorer bet here.

A 2-1 win for the Hammers is the correct score bet as both of Sheffield United’s away defeats have come by that scoreline. Their road displays have probably been better than their home performances and they should be able to keep this game fairly tight after coming close to a win at Spurs, but West Ham are a real force at home and have the quality to secure maximum points.
