Western Sydney Wanderers vs Brisbane Roar Predictions

Western Sydney Wanderers didn’t look like they would improve on their disappointing 9th place finish at the start of the season, with them beginning the campaign with two losses and a draw in their first three matches.

But the 1-0 defeat to cross city rivals Sydney FC sparked some fire in the squad, and they come in to this match on the back of five straight victories in the Hyundai A-League.

They have beaten the likes of Perth Glory, Wellington Phoenix, and the in form Newcastle Jets during this spell of form, and it’s taken them to within touching distance of the top spot.

They are in 2nd place in the table, level on points with A-League leaders Melbourne Victory, although the leaders and champions do have a game in hand.

Brisbane Roar aren’t lagging too far behind though. They sit in 4th position with 15 points from their opening eight games, just one fewer than the top three in the table.

Brisbane Roar started their campaign with three wins from their opening four matches, with a defeat to Wellington Phoenix marring their record in the opening few weeks.

That loss is still their only defeat of the season, although the last few weeks have seen them lose that winning mentality they enjoyed in the opening few weeks in the A-League.

They have now drawn three of their last four league matches, only scoring three goals and conceding two.

These draws have come against top teams such as Sydney FC, Newcastle Jets, and Melbourne City though, with two of those games being away from home.

I think Brisbane Roar will be a very difficult team to beat on Saturday, despite Western Sydney Wanderers excellent form. This makes odds of 5/6 for a Brisbane Roar Win or Draw Double Chance look excellent value for money, and I’m also backing a 1-1 draw at 11/2.
