Two teams involved in the battle against relegation from League One clash on Thursday as Wigan Athletic entertain Leyton Orient.

The visitors looked in real trouble just a few weeks ago but a run of 13 points from the last 15 available has seen them move six points clear of danger with seven games to go.

Wigan’s position is more precarious. They are only two points above Exeter City in 21st place but they have been picking up points, taking seven from their last four games.

This is likely to be a close and potentially nervy affair with little to separate the two sides but Orient look the best bet as 2/1 underdogs when taking the prices into consideration.

The O’s are the team in the better form with four wins and a draw in their last five games, and they’ve managed back-to-back clean sheets. Orient have just one defeat in their last six away (W3, D2) and that run has seen them beat promotion hopefuls Stevenage and take a point at Stockport.

Wigan have won four of their last five at home but going back a bit further the Latics have four losses in their last eight home games, and they were second best throughout in a 3-0 loss at Reading last time out.

Richie Wellens’ side look capable of taking maximum points and one goal may be enough to decide this game. Wigan have only conceded 15 goals across their 19 home games and they have failed to score in six of their seven home League One losses this season, while Orient have managed consecutive clean sheets and score on average just over a goal per-game on their travels.
