Wigan vs Swansea City Predictions

  • Wigan are unbeaten in their last five home games, winning two
  • Swansea have lost four of their last five league games on the road
  • The Swans have not kept an away clean sheet since November

Latics going down with a bit of pride

Wigan may be heading for the Championship trapdoor, but there is still plenty of pride visible in their performances.

With an eight-point gap to the safety line to make up and only six games to do it, the Latics are not mathematically down yet – but as good as in most eyes.

Shaun Maloney’s men competed well with Sheffield United on Good Friday, but lacked enough quality in attack to fore an equaliser against one of the best defences in the division. But they might have enough to give Swansea a few problems on Monday.

Martin’s men still lack some spark

The Swans have conceded far too many away goals for Russell Martin’s linking this term, three more than the rock-bottom Latics in fact. And, although they controlled Friday’s 0-0 draw with promotion-chasing Coventry for long spells they still lack a bit of a spark up front.

Wigan are unbeaten in their last five home games and can surely be in with a chance of taking all three points on Monday if they play up to their recent form.

Hence the recommendation is to take the hosts in the ‘draw no bet’ market with a correct score play of 1-0 to Wigan, which has been the scoreline in three of their four previous home wins this term.
