- Tottenham have yet to keep an away clean sheet in the Europa League this season.
- Tottenham scored 15 times in their six UEL group games earlier in the campaign.
- Both teams have scored in six of Spurs’ last ten Europa League fixtures.
Spurs to outgun their Austrian hosts
With their domestic form floundering, the Europa League could offer Tottenham an alternative route to the Champions League next season, so expect to see Jose Mourinho name a close to full strength team against Wolfsberger in Hungary.
Ferdinand Feldhofer’s side were comfortable qualifiers in the end from Group K, though they rarely looked convincing, and their 3-0 reverse at home to section winners Dinamo Zagreb showed how fragile they can be.
With Thursday’s fixture moved from Austria Budapest in Hungary due to COVID-19 protocols, Wolfsberger have also lost home advantage, and that should prove significant this week.
Tottenham meanwhile, rattled home 15 goals on their way to topping Group J, including six in two meetings with Austrian outfit LASK Linz, though it’s worth noting that Spurs conceded in all three of their away assignments.
Mourinho’s men have kept just one clean sheet in nine games ahead of their trip to Hungary on Thursday, where they are likely to concede again, however, Spurs should have enough quality to eventually outgun their hosts.
With their high-calibre attackers looking a cut above throughout, Tottenham bagged at least three goals in four of their six UEL group matches, and our 3-1 correct score prediction tips their star quality to shine through again in Budapest.
