Wolfsburg vs Cologne Betting Tips

Wolfsburg haven’t been at their best this season, and the loss of Kevin De Bruyne in the summer has obviously affected them even more than they expected.

They finished in 2^nd position last season, with De Bruyne providing over a dozen goals and even more assists. Now they find themselves in 7^th position with just 26 points from their first 18 Bundesliga games. They are already 23 points adrift of leaders Bayern Munich.

Wolfsburg were struggling for form as they approached the winter break in December, and the break doesn’t seem to have done them much good. They came back from their holiday with a 3-2 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt.

This loss makes it five Bundesliga matches without a win for Wolfsburg, with three of those being defeats.

But Cologne aren’t doing too well either. They have only won one of their last six Bundesliga matches and also saw their return to action end in defeat. Stuttgart beat them by a comprehensive 3-1 scoreline on Saturday.

To be fair to Cologne though, only two of these six games have ended in defeat, with a trio of draws making up the remainder of the results.

This leaves them in 9^th position in the Bundesliga, and a win for them on Sunday would see them leapfrog Wolfsburg and move as high as 6^th position.

Wolfsburg are in poor form at the moment and Cologne are proving difficult to beat at times. This may be the best chance in recent memory for Cologne to get a result from a trip to Wolfsburg.

They are away from home though, so I think we need to hedge our bets rather than go for a Cologne win, especially since the visitors are also struggling to pick up three points.

Odds of 1.850 for a Cologne +1.5 Asian Handicap Win look really good value to me though, so that’s what I’m backing along with a 1-1 correct score prediction at 13/2.
