Wolfsburg made a fine start to the new Bundesliga season, winning their first four games. They were defensively solid and created a foundation to build their attacks off. However, of those four, three were by a single goal and they were humbled by Hoffenheim at the weekend, losing 3-1.

Sevilla are unbeaten in seven matches in all competitions so far this season, but they’ve managed to win just three of those. They’re extremely experienced when it comes to European football and they could get the better of a Wolfsburg side who have a John Brooks shaped hole in their backline.

The hosts have won just three of their last eight home games stretching back to last season, meanwhile, Sevilla have only lost one of their last ten away games. The visitors have also picked up positive results against Bayern Munich, Chelsea and most recently Borussia Dortmund.

It’s clear to see that Van Bommel is trying to build something at Wolfsburg but Sevilla possesses exceptional European pedigree and have made a fine start to the season. We’re expecting them to exploit Wolfsburg’s backline which is without a couple of key players.
