      Zalgiris vs Linfield Predictions

      • Zalgiris have won their last three European home matches.
      • Linfield are winless in last 7 away games in Europe
      • Zalgiris reached the UEFA Conference League group stage in 2022/23.

Confident Žalgiris Aim to Take Control of Tie in Vilnius

Zalgiris welcome Linfield to Vilnius for their Conference League second-qualifying round first-leg clash, and the Lithuanian champions will be confident of making a strong start on home soil, having won each of their last three competitive matches at the LFF Stadium.

Both sides failed to  continue their campaign in the Champions League Qualifying and this represents their last chance to play in Europe this season.

This will be the third straight season in which the Northern Irish side have reached the second qualifying round, but they’ve not progressed beyond this stage since 2020-21, and face a tough challenge against a Žalgiris outfit who have regularly featured in the latter rounds of European qualifying campaigns in recent years.

While Linfield have shown resilience in recent away qualifiers, their overall form on the road in Europe remains patchy, with them failing to win an away game since 2019, where they be Montenegro side Sutjeska Nikšić. Žalgiris  by contrast, tend to do a lot better in Europe, and they even reached the group stages of this competition in 2022/23. They’ve won their last three home European game

Expect the Lithuanians to make home advantage count in the first leg. a 2-0 win will put them in a strong position.
