      Bristol City vs Wolverhampton Predictions

Bristol City’s surge up the Championship table continued in midweek as they picked up a late win against QPR, coming from a goal behind to reverse the scores in the closing 20 minutes of the match.

This is just the latest in a long line of excellent results for The Robins. They have now won 9 competitive matches on the bounce, including knocking out Huddersfield and Bolton in the FA Cup. They haven’t tasted defeat since November either, a run stretching back 15 games now.

Unsurprisingly, this has seen the Ashton Gate outfit go flying up the Championship table. They now sit in 5th position, but they are only 8 points adrift of the top spot holders Leeds and considering their recent form you wouldn’t be surprised to see them challenging for the automatic promotion spots later on in the season.

For now, they have to focus on trying to eliminate another Premier League outfit from the FA Cup. Wolves were promoted to the top flight last season and have put in a really good showing so far, but their lack of consistency is a bit frustrating for their fans.

They illustrated that last weekend as they failed to beat Newcastle at Molineux, despite the fact they have beaten Liverpool, Spurs, and Chelsea in competitive football this season. Their seeming lack of motivation against the lower clubs could come back to haunt them at Ashton Gate on Sunday.

Wolves are still a really tough side to beat. Draws against Newcastle and Shrewsbury may be disappointing, but they are still unbeaten in their last 6 games in all competitions. Away from home they have only lost 3 of their last 9 games too, although they have only won 3 of them too.

Considering Bristol City’s scintillating form at the moment, it’s quite a surprise to see Wolves so heavily favoured here. The visitors have only won 3 of their last 9 away games and are coming up against a Bristol City side who have almost forgotten what it’s like to lose at Ashton Gate. They are unbeaten in their last 9 matches there, so backing a Bristol City Win or Draw Double Chance looks a great choice along with a 1-1 correct score prediction.
