Reason For Bristol Rovers vs Swindon Betting Tips

Having looked like a play-off contender at various points during this season, Bristol Rovers have now suffered two damaging defeats in recent weeks and come into this home fixture looking for respite. Fortunately for the hosts, they’ve fared well at home in recent times and could easily get back on the up against a Swindon side who’ve largely struggled on their travels this season.

This appeals as a fixture to keep things simple so, at odds of 4/5, ‘Bristol Rovers to Win’ is the way to go here. The home side have enjoyed their time at The Memorial Stadium this season and are fancied to get back to winning ways here.

It’s very much been a case of “home is where the heart is” for Bristol Rovers this season. They’ve lost just three matches on home soil, winning eight of their remaining 11. They may have lost both of their last away matches, but Rovers have won each of their last four at home, showcasing plenty of firepower in doing so (scoring no less than 15 goals in those four).

In contrast, Swindon, despite edging past Bolton away from home last time out, have generally struggled to find their feet on the road this season. Luke Williams’ team have won just two away matches, losing seven of the other 12. The visitors have struggled to mount much of an attacking challenge on their travels (scoring just 13 goals), but have certainly had no problem when it comes to conceding.

Having shipped no less than 28 goals when playing away from the comforts of home, Swindon really could struggle against a Bristol Rovers attack who’ve been rampant at home, especially lately.

All in all, it’s hard to look past a team who clearly favour the comforts of home, especially since they’re opposition have a habit of conceding numerous away goals.

Head to Head

Bristol Rovers have had the better of this fixture in recent times. The hosts have won two of the last five encounters (including the last), while Swindon have won just once in that time and are now without a win against this opposition in four matches. When they met earlier in the campaign it was Rovers who came out on top (1-2).
