      Doncaster vs Crystal Palace Predictions

Doncaster Rovers suffered some difficult times back in the autumn period of the season, but their 3-0 win over Southend in midweek continued their excellent run of form since that downfall.

They are now unbeaten in 5 competitive games and have only lost 2 of their last 18 matches, pushing them up into the League 1 playoff positions and putting them just 9 points adrift of the automatic promotion places.

Donny’s only 2 defeats in this period have come away from home, but on Sunday they face the tough task of trying to avoid defeat against Premier League opposition. Their previous FA Cup draws have been relatively kind to them, pitting them against Oldham and Preston North End respectively, but hosting Crystal Palace is another matter entirely.

The visitors might not be one of the top teams in the Premier League, but the difference in quality between the top flight and League 1 is huge. The Eagles drew with West Ham last weekend and are now unbeaten in 4 games, and the last round of the FA Cup saw them eliminate Spurs at Selhurst Park.

Roy Hodgson’s men have now lost just 3 of their last 12 matches in all competitions, and 2 of those came against the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool. Even away from home they have only lost 1 of their last 4 matches, so they are understandably the favourites for this game.

However, they could be challenged at the back by this Doncaster side. Palace have conceded in 9 of their last 11 away games in all competitions, and they’re facing a Doncaster side who have been in explosive goalscoring form at home. They have scored in each of their last 10 home games, netting a total of 31 goals in this period.

We fancy Donny to get on the scoresheet against their illustrious visitors, but with just 1 clean sheet in their last 4 home games it’s unlikely they’ll be able to keep Palace at bay. We’re backing Both Teams to Score here, along with a 2-1 win for Crystal Palace.
