Orlando City vs Sporting Kansas City Predictions

Both of these clubs have suffered more defeats than wins or draws in recent weeks and will each be viewing Thursday’s match as a great opportunity to make a return to winning ways. Orlando City have played one more game than their guests so far this season and have picked up two more points than Sporting KC, but both teams have a minus goal difference.

The head to head record between these two clubs and each teams’ performances heading into Thursday’s match all point towards both team scoring and the game ending in a draw. The last time they met in Orlando the game ended in a 2-2 draw, with Larin and Kaka getting the goals for Orlando City and Blessing notching a brace for Sporting KC. Both teams have scored in four of the previous six meetings between these two clubs, with the two encounters that ended 1-0 both being played at the home of Sporting KC.

Both teams have managed to win just one of their last four matches in the MLS and neither side boast a good defensive record during their last six matches, with Orlando City keeping one clean sheet and Sporting KC managing a mere two, which is why we’re expecting goals at both ends of the pitch on Thursday.

Both teams have however been finding the back of the net in the majority of their last six matches, even when they concede, with both teams scoring in three of Orlando City’s last six matches and each of Sporting KC’s last three games. Sporting KC have picked up two wins from their last three away games so will be confident that they can take at least a point home with them on Thursday, especially as Orlando City have lost two of their last three at home.

We’re confident that both teams will score on Thursday and have predicted a final scoreline of 2-2. Neither team have looked strong at the back over the last month but have been scoring goals, which is why we’re backing both teams to score when the pair lock horns. Orlando City are yet to lose at home to Sporting KC but the visitors have been performing well on the road in recent weeks, which is why we’ve gone with a draw as the end result to Thursday’s encounter.
