Rayo Vallecano vs Barcelona Betting Tips and Predictions

Barcelona travel to Madrid this week and they’ll be keen to continue their title procession in the Spanish capital against Rayo Vallecano. Their 2-1 win against Sevilla at the weekend wasn’t vintage Barca and they could easily have dropped points in the game but they only really need to avoid a late season collapse to win the title. They go into this one with a 5 point lead on 2nd placed Atletico but a game in hand and victory would ensure them an 8 point advantage with 11 games to go.

Rayo Vallecano should give them a good game though and they are in decent form having not lost any of their last 7 matches. It is almost 2 months since they were beaten in the league but there have been five draws in those 7 games and they are still only 2 points above the relegation zone and could drop back into it depending on other results this week.

Everything points to there being plenty of goals in this one. Rayo know only one way to play and that is to attack and they more than played their part when the sides met at the Camp Nou earlier in the season and the 5-2 scoreline flattered Barcelona. Rayo are the top scorers outside the top 8 and have scored at least once in every league game they’ve played in 2016 despite extensive injury problems. However once again they have the worst defensive record in La Liga and you have to worry about that up against world football’s deadliest attack.

Barcelona were a bit sloppy against Sevilla last time out and have conceded in all of their last 4 league matches but still won all of them. Therefore backing Barcelona to win and both teams to score at Evens looks highly appealing here.
