Before becoming a Sports Journalist for Free Super Tips, Aaron spent three years studying Sports Journalism at the University of Sunderland while taking in the Black Cats' 'glory years' under Martin O'Neill. Now back in Northern Ireland he turns niche stats into predictions for FST, while he's one of the few people on this island who is equally comfortable at Windsor Park and the Aviva.

Manchester City’s dramatic fall from grace last term adds intrigue for their Premier League opener away at Wolves. Both sides are expected to look very different to last term, with key departures leaving the Molineux side in trouble.

Ahead of Saturday evening’s Premier League action, I’ve built on our free Wolves vs Manchester City predictions to put together a 62/1 Ultimate Bet Builder, part of a packed slate of tips on Saturday.

Wolves vs Man City Ultimate Bet Builder

Erling Haaland to score anytime

Erling Haaland’s down-year for City saw him score 22 times in 31 Premier League appearances, averaging 0.7 goals per 90 minutes. The forward netted in five of his six appearances for club and country over the summer, so he’s backed to get on the scoresheet against Wolves this weekend.

Rayan Cherki to make an assist

Cherki doesn’t look like a typical Pep Guardiola player, but the former Lyon midfielder brings a real guile in midfield which City will need in clashes like this.

Wolves are set to start with a five-man defence and a couple of screeners in midfield, so a player who can create chances in tight spaces will be key post-Kevin De Bruyne.

Cherki recorded 11 assists for Lyon in Ligue 1 last season, while he’s providing chances for a better calibre of player at City. He created a goal in their Club World Cup exit to Al Hilal, so back Cherki to set up a goal in his Premier League debut.

Tijjani Reijnders 1+ shot on target

Reijnders is a real box-to-box demon in midfield, which he’s shown in preseason with a couple of goals. Given how stretched City looked at times last term, he will play a big part in getting the team forward with his engine.

Reijnders averaged 0.8 shots on target per game for AC Milan last season in Serie A. Back him to have an effort on goal after some promising moments early in his City career.

Jhon Arias to commit 2+ fouls

Arias impressed for Fluminense at the Club World Cup, but he was incredibly physical. The forward made at least one foul in every game, while he made multiple fouls in clashes with Borussia Dortmund, Mamelodi Sundowns, and Al-Hilal.

Arias is expected to start on the right of Wolves’ front three, which pits him against former Molineux defender Rayan Ait Nouri. Expect Arias to put in a shift off the ball, so he’s well-priced to make two or more fouls.

Joao Gomes to be carded

Joao Gomes was booked nine times for Wolves in the Premier League last term, while he led the club in terms of fouls made per game. He’s going to need to deal with the likes of Cherki, Reijnders, and Omar Marmoush as he sits in front of the back five.

Gomes was booked in this fixture last season and he had three cautions to his name after five weeks of the season last term.
