5/1 Euro 2016 Accumulator

5/1 Accumulator

Our tipsters selected their favourite bet from each of Sunday’s games whilst taking inspiration from our Euro 2016 match previews.

Our Acca kicked off at 2pm with France taking on Rep of Ireland, and we instantly took a wrong turn as Pogba clumsily brought down Shane Long to award the Irish a 2nd minute penalty. Robbie Brady kept his nerve and converted to go 1-0 up. Ireland held onto their lead admirably and at times looked the more likely team to score as the game went into half time. Didier Deschamps delivered a rollicking at half time as France came out a different animal second half. The game was turned around in 3 minutes, on the 58th minute Griezmann rose highest to head home a Bakary Sagna cross and just 3 minutes later Griezmann made it 2-1 after latching onto a ball from Giroud and confidently placing the ball past the on rushing Randolph.

At 5pm the second game in our treble kicked off as Germany took on Slovakia and it didn’t take long for the Germans to stamp their authority. Jerome Boateng fired in a deflected volley on the 8th minute and when they were awarded a 13th minute spot kick the match looked to be over before it begun. Mesut Ozil stepped up and his penalty was saved to keep the score 1-0. As Half time loomed when Germany doubled their lead, Draxler beat his man to the by-line and pulled his cross back for Gomez who fired in from close range. Second half Slovakia didn’t offer any real intent and leg 2 of our acca was in when Draxler fired in from close range.

Final leg kicked off at 8pm and within 10 mins we were in great shape as Toby Alderwiereld headed home a Kevin De Bruyne free kick. The Hungarians held on well but it became a rout as 3 Belgian goals in the final 12 minutes, including a world class goal from Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, secured Belgium’s passage to the quarter finals and also landed our 5/1 treble.
