Our six-fold selection had a distinct continental flavour on Thursday, with four La Liga, one Serie A and a single Danish fixture making up our betslip.
We backed Spanish giants Atletico and Barcelona to beat a -1 goal handicap what looked like winnable home ties with Huesca and Getafe respectively, and both behemoths delivered on their pre-game promise with routine victories.
In Italy, we banked on Napoli’s superb home form seeing them over the line against Lazio, but our thinking was rewarded when we tipped Lazio to notch a consolation.
Real Sociedad looked a safe bet in the double chance market at home to Celta Vigo, while we correctly forecast goals at both ends in Denmark when Midtjylland and FC Copenhagen went head-to-head.

Our football tipping success didn’t start and end with our huge mega win however, and our analysts picked out a superb Anytime Goalscorer Treble for Thursday’s games that landed at tasty 6/1 odds.
We backed Lazio striker Ciro Immobile to get among the consolation goals at Naples, and the Italian international duly made his mark in the 70th minute, while the evergreen Lionel Messi struck the first of two goals for Barcelona in their demolition job on Getafe after just eight minutes.
Kelechi Iheancho’s purple patch made him a prime candidate in the market too, and the Leicester City frontman hit his team’s third goal against West Brom in the Premier League ten minutes before the interval.
