It was another great night at the darts on Tuesday, made even better when our Darts Tipster landed a 7/1 accumulator to add to 16/1 and 8/1 winners at Ally Pally on Sunday.

Here’s how it all went down:

7/1 Darts Acca Lands

The first game of our treble was the match between Steve Lennon and James Bailey. Lennon had been in good form in the lead up to the World Championships, and we were siding with the Irishman to have a comfortable evening and win 3-0. The first set got off to a bad start, as Bailey won the first leg with some impressive scoring. Despite not playing his best, Lennon soon levelled things up, and then won the next two legs to win the first set 3-1. Into the second set, and with neither player really firing, the set went down to a deciding leg. Lennon was finally able to stumble over the line in a scrappy set to take a 2-0 lead. The third set was slightly more comfortable, Lennon broke the Bailey throw early on and never looked back, securing a 3-0 victory and landing the first leg of our acca.

The second match for us was between Dimitri van den Bergh and Chuck Puleo. The Belgian player had recently captured the World Youth Title, and we were confident he could beat his American opponent in straight sets. Everything went to plan in the first set, it was taking Chuck some time to settle into the big stage environment, and some steady darts by ‘The Dream-maker’ saw him win the first set to nil. The Belgian seemed to take his foot off the gas a little in the second set, and was a little lucky to win the set 3-1, after breaking his opponent in the third leg and holding on to his advantage. With the American warming to his task, things weren’t looking good in the third set, but a splendid 144 checkout in the third leg saw van den Bergh take a 2-1 lead. Puleo held his throw to make it 2-2, so the Belgian had to hold his throw to land our bet. Some poor scoring from both players lead to a nervy leg, and when van den Bergh failed to take out 115, Puleo had the chance to step in and finish 86. Fortunately for us, he missed two darts at double 16, and ‘The Dream-maker’ kept our dreams alive by nailing double-tops for a slightly unconvincing 3-0 win.

The final match for us was between Daryl Gurney and Ross Smith, both players are competent 180 hitters, and we needed them to hit eight or more in the match. Gurney started like a train, hitting one in his second visit to the board and then another two in the first set, whilst Smith hit one maximum in the first set to add to the tally. The scoring in the second set wasn’t as good, Smith found one maximum to help us out, but with Gurney now leading the match 2-0 and looking in good form, we needed three 180s in what was to be the final set of the match. The Northern Irishman didn’t let us down, hitting a maximum in each of the next three legs to land the bet, and our 7/1 acca.
