Anthony Joshua vs Otto Wallin predictions & tips with 27/1 acca

Now living in Manchester, he is a long suffering Bolton Wanderers fan who also enjoys boxing, the NBA, tennis and rugby league.

Anthony Joshua takes on Otto Wallin on Saturday night as part of the huge ‘Day of Reckoning’ card in Saudi Arabia.

Joshua’s bout will be the final fight of the night and is officially the co-headline event, alongside Deontay Wilder’s meeting with Joseph Parker.

I’ve got tips for the two headline contests as well as a 27/1 accumulator covering a few of the other fights on this stacked card.

All odds quoted come from bet365, and new customers can take advantage of their sign-up offer using the button below.

Where to watch Joshua vs Wallin

The big fight will take place on Saturday, December 23 at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The ‘Day of Reckoning’ card is being broadcast by DAZN and is a PPV event, costing £19.99 for viewers in the UK plus the standard DAZN subscription fee.

Who is on the Day of Reckoning card?

  • Anthony Joshua vs. Otto Wallin
  • Deontay Wilder vs. Joseph Parker
  • Dmitry Bivol vs. Lyndon Arthur
  • Daniel Dubois vs. Jarrell Miller
  • Jai Opetaia vs. Ellis Zorro
  • Filip Hrgovic vs. Mark de Mor
  • Arslanbek Makhmudov vs. Agit Kabayel
  • Frank Sanchez vs. Junior Fa

Joshua vs Wallin prediction and fight preview

This will be Joshua’s third bout since suffering back-to-back defeats to Oleksandr Usyk and is the toughest assignment of this rebuild. If he wins, far bigger tasks await as next up he will either face Wilder or potentially take on Filip Hrgovic for the IBF title, as that belt is likely to become vacant after the proposed clash between Usyk and Tyson Fury irrespective of the result.

That adds a bit more pressure on Joshua but he should still have enough to overcome Wallin and a victory for the Briton on points is the best bet. AJ has become a methodical fighter in recent years and he is happy to box behind his jab. Wallin is a tough competitor but is perhaps lacking the engine and power to really trouble Joshua here, so expect Joshua to keep his composure and claim a fairly comfortable points win.

Wilder vs Parker prediction and fight preview

While Joshua has altered his style over the years, Deontay Wilder remains an absolute wrecking ball and he can send out a clear message with a stoppage win over Joseph Parker.

There is a lot to like about Parker, who is attempting to work his way back into world title contention and has been involved in some great bouts over the years. The New Zealander is technically proficient, has excellent footwork and quick hands for a heavyweight – but Wilder has a different level of power.

At some point, the Bronze Bomber should be able to connect here and chances are that will bring an end to the fight. Wilder’s last bout was a first round win over Robert Helenius and he can take Parker out in the first half on Saturday.

27/1 Day of Reckoning Boxing Accumulator Tip

This accumulator combines the tips for the Joshua and Wilder fights, plus the following two selections.

Daniel Dubois to win by KO, TKO or Disqualification
Vs Jarrell Miller

Daniel Dubois returns to the ring after a controversial defeat to Oleksandr Usyk last time out but he can bounce back against unbeaten American Jarrell Miller. Miller, 35, hasn’t faced anyone of Dubois’ level previously and may be out of his depth here. Dubois has 19 victories on his record and 18 stoppages, back him to record another KO.

Dmitrii Bivol to win by KO, TKO or Disqualification
Vs Lyndon Arhur

I’m a huge fan of Manchester’s Lyndon Arthur, but he may find Dimitrii Bivol a step too far in this light heavyweight title fight. Arthur took a lot of punishment against an average opponent in Braian Nahuel Suarez last time out and if Bivol is able to land as regularly as the Argentine did, it is hard to see Arthur reaching the final bell so Bivol can claim his first stoppage since 2018 here.
