642/1 Royal Ascot acca

St James’s Palace Stakes – Tuesday, 14th June at 4:20pm

Best bet – Coroebus

Royal Ascot kicks off with a cracking card on Tuesday and Baaeed looks set to star in the opening Queen Anne Stakes. However, at a slightly bigger price Coroebus looks the best bet of acca backers in the St James’s Palace Stakes. The Charlie Appleby-trained three-year-old was a mighty impressive winner of the 2000 Guineas, beating star two-year-old Native Trail in the process, and he is well clear of the field.

Prince of Wales’s Stakes – Wednesday, 15th June at 3:40pm

Best bet – Bay Bridge

Bay Bridge was another impressive last-time-out winner and the Sir Michael Stoute runner looks a worthy favourite in the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes. The four-year-old faces more rivals at Ascot, but Japanese runner Shahryar looks the only real threat. Bay Bridge was mighty impressive at Sandown, he stays, has tactical speed and there could still be more to come.

Ascot Gold Cup – Thursday, 16th June at 4:20pm

Best bet – Scope

The Gold Cup is the showpiece on Thursday and this does look like a race to oppose the market leaders. With no rain forecast, it’s hard to think that Trueshan will get his ideal conditions and Stradivarius has more on his plate than when winning at York. Kyprios is a major runner, but Scope offers the best value. The Ralph Beckett-trained stayer was doing all his best work at the finish, when winning the Prix Royal-Oak last season, and he can find the necessary improvement at this marathon trip.

Coronation Stakes – Friday, 17th June at 4:20pm

Best bet – Homeless Songs

Homeless Songs was a supremely impressive winner of the Irish 1000 Guineas and she looks to be a fast-improving filly. Looking at the field, there doesn’t appear to be too much for the Dermot Weld-trained runner to worry about, with second-favourite Inspiral yet to even see the track this season.

Platinum Jubilee Stakes – Saturday, 18th June at 4:20pm

Best bet – Creative Force

Saturday’s Platinum Jubilee Stakes can go to Creative Force. The Charlie Appleby-trained runner goes extremely well at Ascot and he won the Jersey and Champions Day sprint at the track last season. It’s a competitive race, but Creative Force looks overpriced.
