At the time of writing both Simon Winter and Aaron Rogan have seen their top choices for Saturday land and Alex Wrigley awaits a Wolves win on Saturday night to make it a clean sweet for the FST trio. Elsewhere Ian Wilkerson is sweating on a Wimbledon win as they approach the halfway point in the first half goalless.

Coventry vs Barnsley – Barnsley to win at 11/10

Barnsley have the chance to extend their lead over seventh-placed Reading to seven points on Sunday, with a straightforward visit to Coventry ahead. The Sky Blues were in action on Thursday night in a narrow win at Rotherham, which is far from the best preparation before facing the Championship’s most relentless side.

Barnsley’s energy has brought a surge into the top six, with the Tykes winning 11 of their last 14 games. They have won six in a row on the road going into this trip, while Barnsley have also claimed seven wins in their nine away games against the bottom 12. Expect them to keep that good form rolling with a win over a Coventry side who can’t match them physically or technically.

Bordeaux vs Monaco – Monaco to win at 8/13

Five points behind Ligue 1 leaders Lille with a game in hand, Monaco are still very much in the title race in France and they can close that gap at the top with a win over the dreadful Bordeaux on Sunday.

The hosts aren’t out of relegation danger just yet but seem to have taken their foot off the gas in recent weeks. Their 4-1 defeat to St Etienne made it three losses in a row and they have conceded ten goals in this period. They have lost nine of their last 11 league outings and their only win in this period came against bottom-of-the-table Dijon.

Monaco, by contrast, put three past Dijon last weekend and have now won three consecutive league games. They haven’t conceded since the start of March and have netted nine times in their last three. They look good value to continue their title challenge on Sunday.

Napoli vs Inter Milan – Both teams to score at 7/10

Inter are closing in on their first Serie A title since 2010, though the Nerazzurri will face a stern test of their aspirations against a strong Napoli team at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

Gennaro Gattuso’s charges have won nine of their last ten matches on home turf in all competitions and they have the confidence to go toe-toe with Inter in what should develop into a gripping end-to-end encounter in Naples.

Rotherham vs Birmingham – Birmingham to win at 13/8

Rotherham looked absolutely out on their feet at home to Coventry on Thursday night and can you blame them?

That was their fifth game in 13 days as they play catch-up and Coventry could have won by a lot more than one goal as the Millers ran out of gas.

But they have to go again at home to a rested and improving Birmingham, who should be able to wear Paul Warne’s men down.

Coventry vs Barnsley – Barnsley to win at 11/10

Barnsley avoided relegation from the Championship by just one point last season but they are in the top six this term and can enhance their playoff chances with a victory over Coventry.

The Tykes beat Middlesbrough 2-0 at Oakwell last weekend but most of their best work has been done away from home recently and they can record a seventh straight road win against a Cov side beaten 4-1 by Bournemouth, another top-six team, last Saturday.

Alaves vs Huesca – Huesca to win at 11/5

Dip into La Liga and take a tasty price about Huesca taking three points from their trip to struggling Alaves on Sunday.

The visitors have claimed consecutive successes at Levante and at home to Elche, which have given them a great chance of avoiding relegation.

They have lost two of their last five away games but those losses came against Barcelona and Sevilla, opposition vastly superior to the one they face on Sunday, and they are unlikely to sit back having scored in nine of their last 12 matches on the road.

Alaves are second from bottom and staring down the barrel.

They have claimed just one win in their last 15 league outings and have been beaten in five of their last seven games on their own patch, so it is difficult to see them avoiding a similar result to the defeat they fell to in December’s reverse fixture.
