How the evening unfolded

In our pair of Championship picks, we needed Reading and Watford to do the business against Coventry City and Barnsley respectively, and neither team disappointed.

The Royals produced a princely performance to swat 10-man Coventry aside in a 3-0 rout at the Madejski Stadium, while a first half Troy Deeney spotkick earned the Hornets all three points in their contest against Barnsley at Vicarage Road.

In Spain, first half goals from West Ham target Youssef El-Nesyri and ex-Liverpool starlet Suso helped Sevilla to dig out a 2-1 win at Alaves, while arguably our bravest selection of the evening in the Premier League turned out to be a little more comfortable.

A hugely impressive Leicester City marched to glory against Chelsea at the King Power Stadium, where the Foxes established and held on to a 2-0 lead in the first half, given to them by strikes by Wilfred Ndidi and James Maddison.

Our 10/1 Tuesday accumulator had originally been a five-fold, and though Blackburn Rovers’ meeting with Swansea was ultimately postponed, our selection accelerated forward as a reduced odds four-part pick.
