This summer’s footballing drought finally comes to an end this weekend with a fixture flood of biblical proportions in the English Football League.

Proceedings kick off on Friday evening as the newly-relegated Burnley make the short trip to last season’s beaten play-off finalists Huddersfield as both sides look to make it back to the top flight.

After landing back-to-back Bet Builders on Tuesday and Wednesday, I have fixed my attention on Friday’s marquee fixture and put together a tasty 31/1 Ultimate Bet Builder for the Championship’s curtain raiser.

31/1 Ultimate Bet Builder for Huddersfield vs Burnley

Burnley double chance

Burnley lost only one of their last four Premier League games last season and the last two clubs to lose the previous campaign’s Championship play-off final began the next season with defeat. The Clarets have only lost four of their last 13 meetigns with the Terriers.

Jay Rodriguez to score anytime

Jay Rodriguez is expected to lead the line alongside Ashley Barnes and while he struggled in the top-flight last term he did score four goals in three Carabao Cup appearances. His last Championship campaign saw him net 22 goals in 47 appearances for West Brom in 2018/19 and he scored Burnley’s only goal of the game the last time they met Huddersfield.

Josh Brownhill to be carded

Huddersfield’s opponents picked up an average of 2.15 cards in the Championship last season and Burnley midfielder Josh Brownhill looks the most likely to get into trouble after James Tarkowski’s departure. The 26-year-old midfielder was booked ten times last season and averaged a card every 295 minutes.

Over 3.5 cards

Only four teams picked up more cards away from home than Burnley last season and their away games averaged 4.48 cards per game, while Huddersfield saw 3.74 cards per game in the Championship last term, rising to 3.96 at home

Under 10.5 corners

Huddersfield were 15th in both corners won and corners conceded in the Championship last season with an average tally of just 9.37 corners per game. Burnley won 4.84 corners per game in the top flight last season and that average dropped to 4.32 when away from home.
