The Premier League weekend wraps up with Leeds taking on Leicester on Monday night. Both sides have impressed us going forward throughout the campaign, which should hopefully lead to a thrilling encounter.

This clash pits two of England’s most in-form forwards against each other. Patrick Bamford may have exploded onto the scene, but he’s pitted against last season’s Golden Boot winner Jamie Vardy.

Both players spearhead two attacking sides who will look to get forward in support, which has us backing goals in our #OddsOnThat selection for this clash.

We’ve picked out a fourfold with Betfair to produce a 50/1 selection which will be decided across 90 minutes at Elland Road.

Leeds vs Leicester #OddsOnThat

Patrick Bamford to score

Last season Leeds claimed promotion by being an incredible side with a striker who struggled to finish. This term has seen Leeds look less controlled against top-flight opposition, but Patrick Bamford is a player transformed.

The striker has shrugged off his reputation as a wasteful player with his excellent start. Bamford has scored six goals in his first six league matches this season and he’s looked a threat throughout despite making a huge step up.

It helps that he plays for one of the league’s most creative sides, who have had the fourth-highest number of shots in the division. As a result, we expect Bamford to get on the scoresheet on Monday night.

Jamie Vardy Leicester City

Jamie Vardy to score

Bamford may be the new Premier League hotshot, but Jamie Vardy has firmly established himself as the league’s most consistent finisher. The Leicester frontman has more Premier League goals than anyone since the start of the 2019/20 campaign.

The bad news for Leeds is that Vardy relishes taking on Premier League newcomers. The Leicester striker has scored 12 goals in his last 15 Premier League appearances against newly-promoted teams, including nine goals in his last seven such matches.

Given that run, we’re backing him to add to his return of seven goals in six matches this season.

Youri Tielemans to be booked

When it comes to combative midfielders in the Premier League you’re unlikely to rank Youri Tielemans high in the list. However, the Belgian has been booked in each of his last three Premier League games.

Tielemans is playing just ahead of the defence in a Leicester system which contains rampaging wing-backs and two attacking midfielders ahead of him. That’s led to more defensive work for Tielemans, which he doesn’t seem to be fully taking to. As a result, we’re backing a booking for the Belgian.

Over 4.5 Leeds corners

Marcelo Bielsa’s team are going to play high up the pitch and look to dominate the game. Given that style, it shouldn’t be a surprise that the hosts are recording plenty of corners since arriving in the top-flight.

Leeds have recorded at least five corners in their last five Premier League games, including a dominant display at home to Manchester City. Bielsa’s men are averaging seven corners per game at home in the league so far, which has us backing them to record at least five when they host Leicester.
