Here’s how it all went down

10/1 winning football accumulator

For our 10/1 five-fold football accumulator, we filled out our slip with games from Belgium, Sweden, Norway and the Europa League.

In the Belgian Jupiler League, we needed Standard Liege to win three points at Waasland-Beveren, and strikes from Amallah and Bastien allowed the visitors to do just that in a 2-1 triumph.

Over in the Swedish Allsvenskan, we needed goals at both ends in IFK Goteborg’s meeting with IFK Norrkoping and BK Hacken’s clash with Varberg BoIS to keep the results on our side.

Both teams had registered by the hour mark in Goteborg’s tussle, though we needed a 94^th minute consolation effort from Varberg to keep us in the black in the division’s other game! Robin Tranberg – we will be forever grateful.

In Norway, we back Start to avoid defeat against Valerenga, though the hosts went one better and carved out a win thanks to yet another 94^th minute strike from the second of our new heroes, Eirik Schulze.

To complete our five out of five winning picks, Inter needed to beat Shakhtar Donetsk in the 8pm Europa League semi-final skirmish. The Nerazzurri spared our nerves with a ruthless demolition job on the Ukrainians, running out 5-0 victors to see us home.

Antonio Conte’s impressive Inter were also our Bet of the Day selection at close to evens, and while nobody could have anticipated the hammering the Serie A giants dished out to Shakhtar, we were thrilled to see the Milanese club deliver on our pre-match predictions. Stateside, our US sports aficionados were in flying form, landing successful doubles across three different disciplines.

Atlanta Braves and LA Dodgers proved a terrific twosome in the MLB, beating Washing Nationals and Settle Mariners respectively to clinch our baseball double, while Colorado Avalanche and Boston Bruins pucked their way to glory against Arizona Coyotes and Carolina Hurricanes in our NHL double to keep the wins flowing.

In the NBA, we backed the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers to come out on top against the Philadelphia 76ers and Dallas Mavericks, and neither let us down. The Celtics threw down a 109-101 victory, while the Clippers turned the Mavericks over 118-110!
