There is just one Premier League game taking place on New Year’s Day but it could be a cracker to kick off 2024 as title chasers Liverpool entertain a Newcastle side who will be desperate to reignite their stuttering campaign.

We’ve got the game covered in our Match Predictions section and I’ve focused on the player markets to put together this 56/1 four selection Ultimate Bet Builder tip.

56/1 Liverpool vs Newcastle Ultimate Bet Builder Tip

Darwin Nunez To Score Anytime

Darwin Nunez seems to enjoy playing against Newcastle as he has scored three times across his last two meetings with the Magpies. Nunez was on target against Burnley in Liverpool’s last game and can strike in Liverpool’s opening game of 2024.

Mohamed Salah To Have 5+ Shots

This will be Mohamed Salah’s last Liverpool appearance before linking up with Egypt for AFCON and he will be looking to sign off in style. Salah averages 3.9 shots-per-game in home Premier League games for Liverpool this season and could reach at least five against Newcastle, who have faced 31 shots in total across their last two games against Luton and Nottingham Forest.

Miguel Almiron To Have 1+ Shots On Target

Newcastle forward Miguel Almirón has taken 17 shots across his last five Premier League games – double his average of 1.7 shots per-game for the season – and he tends to be fairly accurate, with 0.5 officially recorded as on target and 0.5 blocked. As such, the Paraguayan looks a good value option to at least test the keeper on New Year’s Day.

Anthony Gordon To Be Shown A Card

Anthony Gordon picked up his seventh booking of the season in the defeat to Forest last time out and committed three fouls in that game. The former Everton man scored in the reverse fixture earlier in the season and will be eager to make his mark again here, but a booking is probably more likely than a goal in this latest clash between these two sides given their contrasting form.
