Huge 10,107/1 winners treble for this week's golf tournaments

There are three golf tournaments this week as the PGA Tour heads to the Colonial Golf Course in Texas for the Charles Schwab Challenge, the Dutch Open takes place on the DP Tour and the Harbor Shores Golf Club hosts the Senior PGA Championship in Michigan.

Racing Post golf expert Steve Palmer has picked his winners for each event and his selections combine for a mammoth 10,017/1 treble, which as always he recommends backing as an each-way bet.

10,107/1 Golf each-way treble

The Senior PGA Championship starts in Michigan on Thursday, meaning golf punters have three events to consider, opening up the possibility of each-way trebles.

Steve Stricker withdrew from the PGA on tournament-eve, making it look even more of an opportunity for Padraig Harrington to get off the mark on the Champions Tour.

Harrington is a 50-year-old who is relatively new to the circuit, but he has finished second three times this season and appears ready to lay down a strong challenge at Harbor Shores this week.

The Irishman, who has featured on DP World Tour leaderboards in the recent past, still retains much of the ability which made him a three-time Major champion.

A windswept Harbor Shores seems an ideal venue for Harrington to show off his ball-striking class.

The Dublin-born legend can be put with Collin Morikawa for the Charles Schwab Challenge and George Coetzee for the Dutch Open.

Morikawa’s typically deadly iron-play is perfectly suited to the challenge of Colonial Country Club, home of the Charles Schwab.

Morikawa almost won the tournament on his debut in 2020 – an edition which attracted the strongest field in Colonial history.

He lost a playoff two years ago, then finished 14th last year. If he brings anything close to his A-game to Texas this week, the world number four should be in the thick of things throughout, with his morning round-one tee-time looking favourable.

Coetzee can send our treble odds soaring by winning the Dutch Open. The burly South African has been ticking over nicely this season and the Bernardus Golf layout he faces this week sets up beautifully for him.

Many of the market leaders are seeing the course for the first time, but Coetzee teed up there last year.

Putting Harrington (17/2), Morikawa (18/1) and Coetzee (55/1) together creates a huge 10,107/1 treble.
