We are only two months into 2023 but it’s already turning out to be an absolute treat for sporting fans across the globe and the action continues in March with an array of high-profile sporting events.

Alongside continued Premier League and Champions League action, Cheltenham Festival takes centre stage in a couple of weeks.

Golf fans can look forward to the Players Championship later next week, while Formula 1 fans have even less time to wait as the 2023 season gets underway in Bahrain this weekend, following the high-profile UFC 285 Main Event between Jon Jones and Ciryl Gane.

We already have season outright tips for the Formula 1 and a UFC285 accumulator, but for those who like to spread their action across the biggest events of the month I’ve put together this huge Month in Sport accumulator with bet365, where new customers can get up to £30 in free bets when they sign up below.

Month in Sport accumulator

UFC 285 – Jon Jones vs Ciryl Gane (Sat, 4th Mar)

Best bet – Jon Jones to win

Former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones is back after a three-year absence as he looks to stamp his mark on the heavyweight division.

He returns to action with the vacant heavyweight title on the line and Cyril Gane standing in his way.

The pair are both extremely talented strikers but Jones holds a clear advantage on the ground and should be able to expose Gane’s vulnerability.

A lack of competitive action could be the downfall for Jones but, having dominated the light heavyweight ranks over an 11-year period, he has thrown everything into being ready for this return and should find a way to prevail.

Bahrain Grand Prix (Sun, 5th Mar)

Best bet – Max Verstappen to win

Red Bull look like the team to beat once again this season after topping the timing charts in both pre-season testing and the first practice session of the Bahrain Grand Prix.

Granted, it was Sergio Perez on both occasions but Max Verstappen is unstoppable when things get competitive. He won 15 of the 22 races, including nine of the final 11 Grand Prix, and looks a deserved favourite to take the chequered flag first in Bahrain.

Liverpool vs Man Utd (Sun, 5th Mar)

Best bet – Liverpool to win

Liverpool may not be at their best this season but they look to be turning a corner and come into this with four wins from their last five home games in the Premier League.

The Reds have markedly improved at the back recently and Manchester United, while in excellent form, have only won once away to top-half teams in the league this season.

The Players Championship (Tue, 7th Mar)

Best bet – Justin Thomas to win

The PGA Tour season is really starting to heat up and after a series of valuable tournaments comes one of the most significant of them all, the Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass, where Justin Thomas is taken to make his mark.

Two-time PGA Championship winner Thomas has been going under the radar so far in 2022 but there was a lot to like about his tee-to-green game when he finished fourth in Phoenix in February and he found something on the greens at the Genesis the following week.

JT won the Players in 2021 and if his game is firing on all cylinders in Ponte Vedra, there is every chance of a repeat at the so-called ‘fifth Major’.

Cheltenham Gold Cup (Fri, 17th Mar)

Best bet – Noble Yeats to win

The Willie Mullins-trained Galopin Des Champs has been the bookies favourite for quite some time but, although he does seem to cruise through his races, a clear negative is that he’s never actually run at the Gold Cup trip.

There are no such concerns for last year’s Grand National hero Noble Yeats, who had the perfect prep for Cheltenham’s blue riband event in the Cotswold Chase back in January. He was far from knocked about that day and stayed on eye-catchingly well to finish just over two lengths back at the finish.

The extra distance will clearly suit him and, with the pace likely to be a lot quicker here, it could well pay to be on the proven stayer at much larger odds.
