We’re back with our latest edition of Month In Sport and have teamed up with expert tipsters from the Racing Post to create this huge 3,840/1 sixfold accumulator.

We’ve focused on the Europa League for our football selection, picked out a PGA Championship winner and have F1, boxing, UFC and cycling tips as well.

May 5-May 7

F1 – Miami Grand Prix

Formula 1 pays its first of three visits to the United States this season for the glamourous Miami Grand Prix with Max Verstappen odds-on to back up his victory in last year’s inaugural race.

The top step of the podium has been largely the exclusive property of Red Bull since Verstappen’s stormed to victory in the Florida sunshine 12 months ago with a Red Bull driver having won 18 of the 21 races since then.

Verstappen and Sergio Perez have two wins apiece this season and barring any mechanical mishaps, they will be near impossible to beat in Miami having proven to be a second a lap quicker than the rest of the field when pushed.

While the fight for first might be a closed shop, the battle for pole position looks a little more open after some recent improvements by Ferrari.

Charles Leclerc took pole for both the sprint race and the grand pix in the last round in Azerbaijan and was the fastest qualifier in Miami last year.

The Scuderia driver has an excellent qualifying record at street circuits, securing pole in five of the last eight races staged at similar venues and appeals to challenge Red Bull’s superiority in qualifying.

Best bet: Charles Leclerc to be the fastest qualifier

May 6-May 28

Cycling – Giro d’Italia

Drama and the Giro d’Italia have gone hand in hand in recent years and the 106th edition of the Grand Tour, which starts in Abruzzo on Saturday, promises to be just as enthralling. Remco Evenepoel and Primoz Roglic head the market and many cycling enthusiasts expect a riveting duel to ensue across the roads of Italy. Evenepoel is one of the new sport’s new superstars but Roglic is a rugged competitor with a craic team at his disposal which could just swing the fight for the pink jersey his way.

Best bet: Primoz Roglic to win

Boxing – Canelo vs John Ryder

Canelo returns to the ring as part of the Cinco de Mayo celebrations in Mexico on Saturday against England’s John Ryder. The challenger looks like a perfect opponent for Canelo to put on a show against, but he has the quality to enjoy some early success himself and he should at least be able to reach the middle rounds. However, Canelo has the power to finish this one early, so back the Mexican to prevail in rounds 5-8.

Best bet: Canelo to win in rounds 5-8

UFC 288 – Aljamain Sterling vs Henry Cejudo

Aljamain Sterling faces arguably his toughest test yet since becoming bantamweight champion when he makes his third defence against former two-weight champion Henry Cejudo.

Cejudo is one of the best to have ever stepped into the octagon but a three-year absence leaves a lot of questions to be answered when he returns on Sunday.

Sterling has won his last eight fights and should have the tools to counter Cejudo’s attempt to grind him down via wrestling.

There’s every chance this might go the distance but Sterling is fancied to edge beyond the returning 36-year-old via decision.

Best Bet: Sterling to win by decision or technical decision

May 18-21

Golf – PGA Championship

The second golf Major of the year, the PGA Championship, starts on Thursday 18th May, and the test at Oak Hill in Rochester, New York will be a lot different to the one Jason Dufner triumphed in ten years ago.

The course has undergone a radical transformation and it looks set to be one where the bombers should flourish with many trees on the course removed and the par 70 measuring more than 7,400 yards.

That should play ideally into Rory McIlroy’s hands. The Northern Irishman has two PGA titles to his name, but he has not won a Major since his last triumph in 2014 and will be keen to make up for lost time after failing to make the cut at the Masters last month.

Best Bet: Rory McIlroy to win

May 31

Football – Europa League final

Juventus, Sevilla, Bayer Leverkusen and Roma are the last four teams remaining in the Europa League. We tipped up the Giallorossi at the start of the knockout stages and there is no reason to change tact now. Jose Mourinho led his side to Conference League glory last term and can claim back-to-back European titles. A last four match-up with Germany’s Bayer Leverkusen looks a winnable assignment, and when it comes to finals there are few managers better equipped to get a team over the line than Mourinho.

Best bet: Roma to win
