22/1 World Cup bet builder for Spain vs Belgium

The second World Cup quarter final takes place on Friday as Belgium take on Spain’s seemingly impenetrable defence at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

La Roja are yet to concede a goal at the World Cup after edging out Iberian rivals Portugal 1-0 in the last 16. Belgium endured a difficult start to the tournament but they are coming into this game on the back of an impressive 4-1 demolition of co-hosts USA.

We’ve got the game covered in our dedicated Match Predictions section and now I’ve delved into the player markets to put together this 22/1 World Cup bet builder tip.

I’ve used Paddy Power to put together this tip and new customers can take advantage of their sign-up offer and back this bet using the buttons below.

Mikel Oyarzabal To Have 4+ Shots

Mikel Oyarzabal is Spain’s leading scorer at the World Cup with four goals and he’s averaging just under four shots per game.

Oyarzabal has had at least five shots in three of his five appearances and has had eight in total across two knockout ties so far. The Real Sociedad forward should bet a few chances against a suspect Belgium defence – who faced 19 shots in total in their last 32 win over Senegal – and four or more attempts looks realistic for Oyarzabal.

Kevin De Bruyne To Create 3+ Shots

Belgium coach Rudi Garcia left Kevin De Bruyne on the bench for the last 16 win over the USA but he should be restored to the starting side for Friday’s quarter final with Spain.

De Bruyne is averaging 2.5 key passes per game for the Red Devils at the World Cup and he averaged 3.5 per game during qualifying. The veteran Napoli midfielder is one of Belgium’s key creators and he can create at least three shots.

Belgium Keeper To Make 5+ Saves

Belgium keeper Thibaut Courtois hasn’t made more than three saves in a World Cup game as yet but we should expect a tournament best in that regard when he comes up against Spain.

La Roja had six shots on target against Portugal and 10 against Austria in their two knockout ties so far, with each opposing keeper making five or more saves in both of those games.

Spain have forced at least five saves from opposition goalkeepers in four of their five games so far, only failing to do so in their final group stage game against Uruguay when they had already qualified. If Belgium are to pull off an upset they need a massive performance from Courtois and the Real Madrid stopper is capable of making at least five stops.

Lamine Yamal To Commit 2+ Fouls

Spain’s Lamine Yamal has struggled to impose himself so far at the World Cup with just one goal to his name, but he made a big contribution defensively against Portugal with five tackles.

Yamal also had five fouls against the Portuguese and he also averaged exactly one foul per game in La Liga with Barcelona. Belgium can be a dangerous team in the wide areas so Yamal may be called into action in defence in this quarter final tie and two or more fouls for the youngster at an odds against price looks a strong value pick.
