Aberdeen vs FK Qarabag Predictions

• Qarabag are unbeaten this season in all competitions (W4, D3)
• Aberdeen are winless in their last three games 
• Qarabag dominated the first leg and the Dons forced just one attempt on goal

Aberdeen to come up short in ECL bid

Aberdeen have some work to do if they are to reach the Europa Conference League group after losing the first leg of their tie against Azerbaijan’s Qarabag 1-0.

The Dons do have home advantage in the second leg, and they have a perfect record at Pittodrie this season but they were largely outplayed in the first leg and may come up short here.

Aberdeen had just 39% of the possession in Azerbaijan and managed just one attempt all game.  Qarabag weren’t necessarily rampant and managed just five attempts themselves, with three on target, but the visitors are the form team here and are unbeaten after seven games in all competitions this season (W4, D3).

After a bright start to the season Aberdeen are now winless in their last three games with two defeats and two draws and I expect Qarabag to take advantage of the dip in form.  The Premiership club need to attack to fight their way back into the tie, and if the visitors can keep it tight at the back in the early stages they should get a few chances on the break and that may just kill the game off, with a 1-0 win for Qarabag my selection in the correct score market.
