Flying Bluebirds to Bite the Cherries
There’s a huge three points up for grabs at the Vitality Stadium as sixth-placed Bournemouth host seventh-placed Cardiff and it’s the Bluebirds who are backed to secure a sixth league win on the bounce.
City have been transformed since the arrival of new boss Mick McCarthy and there is no side in better form than the Bluebirds right now. Saturday’s 4-0 thrashing of Preston made it five wins in five for the Welsh outfit who are charging towards the play-off positions at a rate of knots.
They currently sit three points behind Bournemouth going into this crucial fixture and victory at the Vitality Stadium would see them overhaul the Cherries in the top six.
After a four match losing run, Bournemouth have been a shade better over the last fortnight under Jonathan Woodgate although their two wins this month came against bottom three sides in the shape of Rotherham and Sheffield Wednesday.
The Cherries were beaten 2-1 by QPR at the weekend and look vulnerable here against a vastly improved Cardiff team who have the wind in their sails. McCarthy’s men are overpriced for this one at around 5/2 and we’re backing the Bluebirds to land the spoils.
There could be goals as well though with the hosts failing to net in just two of their 15 home starts this season, so we’re also tipping a 1-3 score-line in Cardiff’s favour.
