AFC Bournemouth vs Stoke City Predictions

  • Bournemouth have failed to win three of their last five home Championship contests.
  • Stoke City have avoided defeat in six of their last eight away league games.
  • Stoke have scored at least two goals in three of their last five road trips in the league.

There’s value in Stoke’s double chance price

Stoke have been involved in close games with almost all of the teams above them in the Championship table and Saturday’s game at Bournemouth could be just as tight.

The Cherries are being priced as if anything other than a home win is almost out of the question, but Scott Parker’s men have failed to convert their odds-on quotes at home to Coventry, Blackburn and Hull City recently. Stoke have taken at least a point from six of their last eight Championship road trips, including tough assignments at Nottingham Forest, Huddersfield and QPR, so we believe they offer great value here.

A deeper dive into Stoke’s results will tell you Michael O’Neill’s men are almost always competitive away from bet365 Stadium, where they have picked up 14 points in their last eight matches. The former Northern Ireland manager added some fresh attacking options in January and those moves have already borne fruit in terms of goal power if they haven’t yet translated to points.

Cherries have been churning out home 2-2 scores

Stoke have scored exactly two goals in three of their last five road games and at least two goals in five of their last eight overall. The Potters have seen two of their last three matches finish 2-2 and that looks a great option to take here in correct score betting. Similarly, no team in the division has produced more home 2-2 results than Bournemouth with some 21% of their games at the Vitality Stadium ending up that way.

Among the Stoke goalscorers in four of his last six Championship appearances since joining in January, Lewis Baker looks a great bet at around 15/2 to register again this Saturday. The ex-Chelsea midfielder is on spot-kicks for the Potters and has dispatched his last two with ease.
