A great start for Anderlecht

Only one team has won both of their opening two games of the Belgian Pro League season and Anderlecht will be confident they can make it three when they host new boys Zulte-Waregem on Sunday.

Seven goals in two games have left them top of the table and they have got over their only disappointment of the campaign – they lost to Swedish side Hacken on penalties in the Europa League, but their European adventure looks set to continue after a 3-0 Conference League victory over Sheriff Tirapol from Moldova.

Their domestic campaign got off to a great start with a 5-2 win over Westerlo, in which Thorgan Hazard scored twice and following that up with a 2-0 success at Cercle Brugge should make everyone sit up and listen.

Waregem should not just make up the numbers

But while this looks like a daunting task, Challenge League champions Waregem should be confident they can get on the scoresheet following a 1-1 draw with Mechelen and a 3-1 defeat at Westerlo.

They will be determined to prove they are worthy of top-flight status and can get on the scoresheet, so a home win with both teams scoring looks the best way to go, with correct-score punters pointed towards a 3-1 Anderlecht win.
