Slavia Prague vs Arsenal Predictions

  • Slavia Prague are unbeaten in 23 games in all competitions.
  • Slavia Prague haven’t lost a competitive home game since November 2019.
  • Arsenal have won only one of their last four matches.
  • Slavia Prague held Arsenal to a 1-1 draw in the first-leg at the Emirates Stadium.

Slavia targeting another English scalp

Slavia Prague have revelled in the role of underdogs in this season’s Europa League and the Czech outfit displayed their knack for upsetting the odds again when they held Arsenal to a 1-1 draw at the Emirates Stadium last week.

The Gunners had taken an 86th minute lead through Pepe in London, though Slavia notched a deserved equalizer in injury time to earn a share of the spoils and a solid first-leg result.

Slavia – who dumped Rangers and Leicester out in the competition’s last two rounds – beat local rivals Sparta Prague at the weekend, and the Červenobílí are now unbeaten in an impressive 23 games in all competitions.

Arsenal need to improve

Arsenal ended a four-match winless run with a routine 3-0 victory at bottom club Sheffield United on Sunday, though the Gunners will need to reach even loftier heights to get a result in Prague this week.

Their clean sheet at Bramall Lane was Arsenal’s first in 15 assignments in all competitions, while the Gunners have shut-out their opponent just once in their last eight attempts in the Europa League.

Arsenal to struggle in Prague?

Arsenal are priced as clear favourites to win in Prague on Thursday, though we’re advising bettors to oppose the Gunners in what should prove a tricky tie in the Czech Republic.

Slavia Prague have yet to lose a single game at home in any competition this term, and their last defeat at the Sinobo Stadium came all the way back in November 2019, when Serie A champions-elect Inter left with three Champions League group stage points.

Win at an already doomed Sheffield United aside, Mikel Arteta’s side have looked off-colour since mid-March, and we don’t see them ending Slavia’s 23-game unbeaten record this week.

Taking Prague in the double chance market is advised as a result, while our 1-1 correct score prediction sees this one trickling into extra time.
