Arsenal vs Chelsea Predictions

BETTING TIP – ARSENAL TO WIN & BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE

CORRECT SCORE PREDICTION – 2-1 ARSENAL

  • Both teams have scored in all four of Arsenal’s pre-season games (v Hibs, Rangers, Millwall & Watford).
  • Both teams have scored in Chelsea’s two pre-season wins (6-1 v Peterborough, 2-1 v Bournemouth).
  • Arsenal have beaten Chelsea the last three times they have met.

Gunners have momentum to stop Euro champs in their tracks

Arsenal host Chelsea in the first match of the Mind Series this Sunday with Mikel Arteta’s side looking to continue their winning pre-season run.

The Gunners recorded their second straight 4-1 victory by beating Watford on Wednesday after seeing off Millwall by the same scoreline last Saturday.

Arteta has been integrating new signings Nuno Tavares and Albert Sambi Lokonga while giving more responsibility to some of the young talent that broke through last season.

Bukayo Saka has not yet returned from his post-Euros break while Gabriel Martinelli is still away at the Olympics, but Bernd Leno is back in training and should play some part and may even be joined in the line-up at some stage by new recruit Ben White.

His arrival has added to an air of optimism around the Gunners, who won’t be ‘inconvenienced’ by European football this season.

Chelsea came from behind to beat Bournemouth 2-1 in midweek with a number of young players taking the opportunity to shine, although the Cherries created some good chances.

Five of the last six meetings between these London rivals have seen both teams score and it probably won’t be any different for this friendly.

But we’ll take Arsenal, who have beaten the Blues in their last three meetings and have taken three of the last four clashes to have taken place at the Emirates, to win as well.

We’re going with a prediction of 2-1 to the Gunners because that is the most frequent outcome to emerge from the last ten contests.
