Arsenal to Win

Reason for tip

Arsenal remain unbeaten after a difficult run and they’re worth backing to stop PSG on Tuesday night. The French side have started well domestically but they struggled against Girona in their opening game in Europe. The visitors lost three of their six away games in this competition last season and they’ve won just four of their last 15 away games in the Champions League. The Gunners have won 12 of their last 15 at the Emirates and they can secure the points.

Arsenal 2-1

Reason for tip

Despite having the Premier League’s best defence, Arsenal have been opened up by the likes of Brighton, Aston Villa and Atalanta of late. They’ve conceded over 1.0 Expected Goals in four of their last six matches in the league and Champions League, so back PSG to get a goal. However, Arsenal should do enough to secure a 2-1 victory.

Gabriel Martinelli To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

PSG have looked a little soft defensively at full-back, while their possession heavy style can lead to them being caught on the counter. Both of those factors – alongside Martinelli’s dangerous positioning from corners on Saturday – make him a tempting anytime goalscorer pick.

Arsenal vs PSG Predictions

  • Arsenal have won 12 of their last 15 games at the Emirates
  • PSG lost three of their Champions League trips last season
  • The French side have lost their last three visits to England in this competition

Arsenal face another test

Arsenal face their first home game in the revamped Champions League on Tuesday night when they host last season’s semi-finalists PSG. UEFA promised more big clashes early in the tournament and the Gunners are proof of that, having drawn at Europa League winners Atalanta in their European opener.

Mikel Arteta’s side rank among the favourites to win this competition this term and they’ll be desperate to show why on Tuesday night. Having remained unbeaten through a tricky start to the league campaign, the Gunners are now favourites for the league title in some quarters. Can they build on that high with three points in Tuesday’s standout clash?

Away record should sink PSG

Both sides are yet to lose this season, but Arsenal get the nod as favourites here against a PSG side who are finding their way post Kylian Mbappe. While the Ligue 1 title looks set to stay in Paris, European tests haven’t been quite as easy for the French outfit. Luis Enrique’s side lost three of their six away trips in this competition last term.

PSG have won four of their previous 15 away games in this competition. That run has seen them suffer defeats in all three visits to England, while they meet an Arsenal side who are looking good at the Emirates.

The Gunners have won 12 of their previous 15 home matches and the progress they’ve made in recent years under Mikel Arteta should see them dispatch PSG.

Martinelli should thrive for Gunners

Enrique has pushed a possession-heavy approach with PSG, but his team does have a habit of sitting to high and too narrow. Their central defenders can be exposed by the pace of wide players on the break, while they have also been troubled by their full-backs not tracking wide players on crosses into the box.

Winger Gabriel Martinelli looks like he could be a real threat in this clash, having put together a fine run of form. The Brazilian scored on Saturday and he had two efforts on target, while he got into good positions against Atalanta – posting a team-high Expected Goals of 0.6.

PSG right-back Achraf Hakimi tends to push forward, giving Martinelli some space to cause problems. The winger also positioned himself as the target of corners against Leicester, so he has plenty of routes to goal.
