Youthful Barca benefit from home comforts

Despite some patchy play, Barcelona still look the bet to beat Real Sociedad at Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys on Monday night. Xavi’s outfit have lost two of their last three in La Liga, against Real Madrid and Girona who both now sit above them heading into the final weeks of the campaign.

But both of those losses came away from their temporary home, where they have won four on the bounce and kept three clean sheets in those fixtures.

Barca are a young side and it is no surprise to see them struggle more when they are put under pressure by their opponents, but few teams have been able to have that affect on them at the Olympic Stadium.

Lewandowski looks good for a goal again

Real Sociedad are equipped to cause Barca some problems and their recent away record suggests they can grab a goal. The Blaugrana have been giving up some high-quality chances in matches and have not always been punished, but the likes of Sheraldo Becker and Ander Barrenetxea have both been among the goals for the visitors of late.

Robert Lewandowski, with four goals in his last two appearances, is the leading anytime goalscorer candidate and should get some joy against a Real Sociedad defence that has kept only two clean sheets in their last 14 games.

And backing Barca to win with both teams to score looks a great bet too.
