Barrow 1-0

Reason for tip

Although it may be tempting to back 0-0 because four of the Dons’ last five league games finished scoreless, Barrow are a useful home side and can nick a 1-0 win.

Barrow vs MK Dons Predictions

  • Barrow and MK Dons were both in the bottom eight of League Two for expected goals on opening weekend
  • Fewer than three goals have been scored in eight of Barrow’s last 10 league games
  • Fewer than three goals have been scored in MK Dons’ last six league matches

Dons have been dismal in front of goal

MK Dons’ goalscoring problems could open the door for Barrow to pick up their first win of the League Two campaign when the sides meet at SO Legal Stadium on Saturday.

The visitors’ attack has appeared blunted for a while and a sum total of only one goal in their final seven League One fixtures last season summed up why they finished in the bottom six, three places below Barrow.

Paul Warne’s side picked up where they had left off with a 0-0 draw at home to Oldham last week in which they failed to hit the target with any of their five total shots.

Confidence about the unders here

The stats from that game, and Barrow’s 1-0 defeat at Chesterfield, point towards this clash being a bit of a clunker as well. The MK Dons’ 0.2 expected goals from their game made Barrow’s 0.7 expected goals in Derbyshire look half decent.

Fewer than three goals have been scored in eight of Barrow’s last 10 league games and in the Dons’ last six league matches, so back the unders with some confidence.

A 1-0 Barrow win might be a decent play in correct score markets too as the Bluebirds were useful at home last season, winning four and losing only two of their last nine in Cumbria.
