Top spot is Basel’s for now

Can the visitors get what they need?

Azerbaijan’s top side Qarabag are hoping to cause an upset here as they come into this one as outsiders but they have nothing to lose and will make it to at least the preliminary knockout rounds even if beaten so they could well go for this one. Perhaps they will look to sit in and attack the game late on but neither team has a sturdy enough defence to just play with a low block. Basel have conceded 1.2 goals per game on average while Basel are conceding a goal a game and both have conceded on average, two or more per group game. Hence our over 2.5 goals prediction.

Qarabag have won both away group matches scoring four in Cyprus against Omonia where Basel only managed a 1-1 draw so the result is up in the air. In my eyes, they are evenly matched and that is expressed in the table as things stand and I think it’s hard to call a winner.
