Bayer Leverkusen to Win and Over 2.5 Match Goals
Reasoning
Bayer Leverkusen vs Union Saint Gilloise Predictions
- Bayer Leverkusen have won their last seven games in all competitions
- Bayer Leverkusen have scored at least two goals in their last four Europa League games
- At least three goals have been scored in five of Union S-G’s last seven Europa League fixtures
Belgians running into Bundesliga club at the wring time
Union Saint-Gilloise are running into Bayer Leverkusen at the wrong time as the First Division A outfit bid to become the first Belgian team to make a European semi-final since 1993.
The Bundesliga club have won seven straight games in all competitions, including a 2-1 victory over Rekordmeister Bayern Munich, and should prove too tough a nut for Karel Geraerts’ side to crack at the BayArena.
Xabi Alonso’s side have been defensively sound in recent weeks, conceding only twice in their last three Bundesliga games, but they are also regularly hitting multiple goals even without injured striker Patrik Schick.
Leverkusen look lethal in attack
A forward line of Amine Adli, Moussa Diaby and Florian Wirtz has been combining beautifully while wing-back Jeremie Frimpong provides plenty of attacking thrust down the right-hand side.
They can grab at least two goals against a Union side that shipped three times away to Union Berlin in the previous round, although they managed to keep pace with their hosts on that occasion.
They drew 1-1 with Gent at the weekend and lost midfielder Jean Amani to injury, which could be a tough blow if he cannot face Leverkusen. The pick here is to take the hosts to win with at least three goals in the game as Union showed they were unable to keep the back door shut when leading three times in Berlin in the previous round.
