Belarus set for bliss in Budapest

Despite no longer being able to qualify for next summer’s Euro 2024 finals in Germany, Belarus will welcome Andorra on Saturday high on confidence, following an impressive 3-3 draw with Switzerland in their last outing.

The Swiss had beaten Belarus 5-0 in the reverse fixture, suggesting Saturday’s hosts may be making progress of late and the fact they have lost just one of their last five matches would seem to be proving that to be true.

In contrast, Andorra have gone 11 games without a win and four without a goal, suggesting they are unlikely to add to their two points in Group I in Budapest.

Misfiring Andorra in for a tough trip

In the four games Andorra have gone without scoring, they have lost 3-0 in two of them and a similar score may be on the cards on Saturday.

The last meeting between these nations finished 0-0, but Belarus have only improved since then and Andorra look unlikely to find the net against a side who kept a much stronger Romania team from scoring last month.

If an improved Belarus can net three away at Switzerland, they should have no issues in netting the same amount against a woefully leaky Andorra defence.
