Besiktas to beat Braves on Dele’s debut

Dele Alli is likely to make his Besiktas debut in Monday night’s Super Lig clash with struggling Sivasspor – and he should play a part in a home victory. Besiktas sit in fifth place on seven points after two wins and a draw while visitors Sivasspor are in 15th with two points, having drawn two of their three fixtures.

Alli isn’t the only new signing the Black and Whites intend to parade in front of their fans at Vodafone Arena as  Turkey Under-21 international midfielder Kerem Atakan Kesgin could be in line to face his former club. It remains unclear whether Algerian winger Rachid Ghezzal, who missed Besiktas’ 4-1 win over Fatih Karagumruk through injury last week, will be fit enough to feature.

Two other midfielders – Atiba Hutchison and Souza as well as defender Welinton are not expected to play, but summer signing Emrecan Uzunhan is available again after serving a suspension. Sivasspor were bumped from the Europa League qualifiers to the Conference League last week by Malmo, but they had chances to get on top in both legs.

Underlying stats don’t look good for Sivasspor

A lack of reliable finishing seems to be their biggest problem, although defensively they would seem to have issues too after conceding 14 goals in six games so far this term.

Besiktas have the best expected goals figure at home in the Super Lig (2.63) while Sivasspor have the worst figure for expected goals away (3.35) when on the road this season, which suggests a -1 handicap bet could prove profitable here.

The Braves have not got much of a record at the Vodafone Arena, losing three of their last six visits there by more than one goal. The correct score forecast of 2-0 for Monday’s encounter is based on the visitors’ failure to score at the much less hostile home of Adana Demirspor in their last domestic away trip.
